For a long time, the server section in Minecraft Bedrock Edition has felt stale. Besides a few servers like The Hive, most are either empty or have become overly Pay-to-Win. But finally, Minecraft and the legendary Nox Crew (creators of MCC) have dropped a special surprise: the Soul Steel Minecraft Server, a new experience that could change everything.
This server, available right now via the Event tab on the Bedrock home screen (on all platforms from mobile to console), comes with its own custom resource pack, music, and UI. It’s designed to bring a Minecraft Dungeons-like experience directly into the Bedrock world.

What is Soul Steel? A True Dungeon Crawler
Simply put, Soul Steel is a multiplayer Dungeon Crawler focused on PvE (Player vs. Environment). You start as a relic hunter whose airship has crashed, and now you must enter dangerous dungeons for survival and treasure.

Unlike PvP servers, the focus here is on adventure, exploration, defeating Mobs and bosses, solving puzzles, avoiding traps, and, of course, getting Loot.

Getting Started: The Tutorial Walkthrough
When you first join the server, you’ll see a short cutscene: your airship has crashed, and you need to find a way out.
Step 1: Escape the Crash Site
You wake up surrounded by fire and wreckage.
- First Gun: You immediately find a simple gun (sword).
- First Mobs: You’ll face a few small creatures that you must defeat.
- Potions: You learn to pick up health potions; the bigger the potion, the more health it restores.
- Meet the Stranger: You reach an NPC who asks for your help in gathering treasure.
Step 2: Learning the Core Mechanics
This NPC introduces you to three key concepts:

- Chrono Keeper: A magic lantern that grants the power to enter dungeons. Your time inside is limited.
- Coins: Your first Quest is to collect a few coins from the Ruined Temple dungeon (where you’ll likely get an E-Rank).
- Chrono Essence: Your second Quest is to collect Chrono Essence. These items permanently increase your time in the dungeon (by leveling up the lantern).
- Keys & Chests: Your third Quest is to find a Silver Key to open a Locked Chest.

Step 3: Arriving at Port Fortuna
After completing these three tutorial missions, the NPC launches you via a Cannon to the main game hub, Port Fortuna.
- Meet Dana: In Port Fortuna, you speak with a new NPC, Dana the Squire.
- Choose Your Main Gun: Dana sends you to the Voyagers Concord store to pick your real weapon. You’ll have to choose between two options (e.g., Poisoned Blade or Arcane Halberd).
- Travel Master: Finally, you go to the Travel Master, who will send you to the first real dungeon.
First Dungeon: The Valley of Wealth
You arrive at the Old Kingdom base camp and must find the entrance to the Valley of Wealth dungeon. This is where the real Grind begins.

Core Gameplay Mechanics
The experience is built on a core risk vs. reward cycle.
- Your Main Enemy: Time! You have very little time to explore the dungeon. You must constantly collect Chrono Essence to increase this time for your future runs.
- The Risk of Failure: If your time runs out and you can’t get back to the portal, you get trapped inside and lose a percentage of all the loot you worked hard to collect.

Your Initial Challenges
- Feed the Krono: One of the first quests asks you to collect 15 Chrono Essence. This task forces you into Replayability (repeating the dungeon multiple times).
- Gold Hoorde Challenge: In parts of the dungeon, you’ll find podiums with skull designs (Skull Podiums). Activating them starts a challenge to defeat a large number of Mobs within a time limit.
- Getting a C-Rank: This is the toughest early challenge. You must get a C-Grade or Higher, which requires collecting over 1,000 coins in a single run. This is nearly impossible until you have first grinded enough Chrono Essence to significantly increase your time limit.

Progression and Upgrades
The entire point of grinding in dungeons is to collect Coins and Materials (like Scrap and Tempering Threads). You take these resources back to Port Fortuna to:
- At the Forge: Upgrade your gun.
- At the Armory: Upgrade your accessories and armor.
The more you kill with a specific gun, its Rank and Loyalty will increase, making it ready for further upgrades.

The Golden Tip that Will Save You 1 Hour
This is the most important tip for new players, as highlighted in the video: Activate your Abilities and Runes!
Many players (like the YouTuber in the video) don’t realize that their gun has special abilities that are Inactive by default.
- Go into your menu (the character icon).
- Go to the Abilities and Runes tab.
- You will see slots for your gun (like Slashing, Arcane, etc.).
- Click on them and Activate the available abilities (like Death Blast or Knockback).
The Before vs. After: Before activating your Runes, you will struggle to kill Mobs. Immediately after activating them, your damage (DPS) will increase dramatically, and you’ll be able to clear rooms with ease. Do this before you start seriously grinding!
Conclusion: The Future of Bedrock Servers
The Soul Steel Minecraft Server is exactly what Bedrock needed: a deep, rewarding PvE experience focused on teamwork and grinding, not on being Pay-to-Win.
The Nox Crew has officially stated that Soul Steel is an evolving experience, with new Seasons, dungeons, guns, armor, bosses, and regions planned for the future. If you enjoyed Minecraft Dungeons or are looking for a new team-based experience in Minecraft, do not miss Soul Steel.
